Smooth signup, good content, minor app glitch

I subscribed to CNBC PRO a few weeks ago for their market insights and live TV streaming. The ordering process was really straightforward on their website; I just picked the annual plan and it was set up in minutes. I've mostly been using it to watch 'Squawk Box' and 'Mad Money' live, which has been great. The quality of the streams is clear, even on my phone. I also checked out some of the personal finance guides, and they're pretty informative. The only small thing is sometimes the app freezes for a second when switching between articles, but it always resolves itself quickly. Overall, I'm satisfied with the content and how easy it is to access.

Good value for PRO annual plan

I was looking for a good deal on financial news and decided to try CNBC PRO. I saw they had an annual subscription discount, which saved me a decent amount compared to paying monthly. It felt like a solid investment for the content. The market analysis has been helpful, and it definitely feels worth the price I paid for the year.

I'm thinking of switching from Yahoo Finance to CNBC PRO. Is it a big upgrade or just a fancier interface?

J Julia 1 month ago
Huge upgrade! Yahoo is good for free stuff but PRO gives you way more depth – live TV, pre/post-market data, exclusive articles, global coverage. It's a different league.

Any tips for getting a good deal on PRO? Like, are there referral bonuses or anything if a friend already has it?

N Nina Foster 2 months ago
I don't remember seeing a referral bonus, but sometimes they do flash sales or first-year discounts. Keep an eye out around holidays or major market events.

They often have promotional links that give you a pretty sweet discount on the first year, especially if you sign up for the annual plan. Check their homepage banners or sign up for their marketing emails.

Thinking about getting CNBC PRO. Is it actually worth the price for someone who's not like, a day trader?

A Amber Silva 2 months ago
I've had it for about six months and yeah, I think so. The pre-market and after-hours data is super useful, even if you're just dabbling. Plus, the analyst calls are good.

Depends on what you need. If you're just looking for basic news, probably not. But if you want deeper dives and stuff like the live TV access without cable, it's pretty good. I mostly use it for the global market coverage.

Hey, does CNBC usually have a Black Friday deal for PRO? Don't want to sign up now if I can get a better price later.

S Sophie 2 months ago
They totally do! I remember seeing some pretty solid discounts last year around Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Like 50% off for the first year, I think. Might be worth waiting.

Yeah, they usually have something going on for the holidays. Also, check around New Year's too, sometimes they run similar promos then.

How accurate are the real-time stock quotes on CNBC? Like, compared to Bloomberg Terminal or something super pro?

C Carly 2 months ago
For most purposes, they're really good. I've never noticed a significant lag compared to my brokerage account. It's not a direct feed from the exchange like a super high-end terminal, but it's close enough for most people.

I find them pretty accurate. Haven't had any issues with discrepancies for my trading. For super high-frequency stuff maybe not, but for regular investing, they're solid.
